Our history<\/h3>\n

In the 1990s, the idea for Amsterdam Boat Events was born from the vision of an enthusiastic canal boat skipper. He saw the potential to make boat tours in Amsterdam different and more special than the usual canal cruises. At the time, he lived on his own houseboat called “Hoop op Behoud” (Hope for Preservation), and that’s where the adventure began.<\/p>\n

The “Hoop op Behoud” – Pionierswork (1993)<\/h3>\n

In 1993, the “Hoop op Behoud” was launched, marking the beginning of Amsterdam Boat Events. This sailing houseboat accommodated 50 people and introduced a revolutionary alternative to the “ordinary” canal boat. With the “Hoop op Behoud,” guests could enjoy the Amsterdam canals in a way that was previously unimaginable.<\/p>\n

The “Tijd zal het Leeren” – Expansion (2000)<\/h3>\n

In the year 2000, Amsterdam Boat Events expanded its fleet with the “Tijd zal het Leeren.” This boat followed the same concept as the “Hoop op Behoud,” offering the possibility to experience the canals both fully open and enclosed. This new vessel added even more diversity and options to our growing list of unique event offerings.<\/p>\n

From that moment on, Amsterdam Boat Events has continued to grow and evolve, all while maintaining our commitment to creating unforgettable experiences on the water. Our history of pioneering and innovation is the foundation of our success, and we continue to strive for new ways to explore and appreciate Amsterdam from the water.
